OVERVIEW OF THAILAND(Phuket - Bangkok)
• Thailand is a country on Southeast Asia’s Indochina peninsula known for tropical beaches, opulent royal
palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha, a revered symbol.
• The name of Phuket is derived from bukit in Malay which means “mountain”. Before that, the old name was
Talang which means “cape”
• The island runs a length of 48 kilometres and lies on the southern part of Thailand.
• The western side faces the coastline of the Andaman.
• Bangkok, Thailand’s capital is a sprawling metropolis known for its ornate shrines and vibrant street life.

About the Destination• TOPOGRAPHY- Thailand is divided into five major physical regions:
