Vf. MoldoveanuMoldoveanu Peak is the highest mountain peak in Romania, located in Fagaras Mountains, Arges county. Its altitude is 2,544 meters. Because of its surrounding mountain peaks, most of over 2,400 meters, Moldoveanu peak is visible only from Fagaras ridge or in the air, unlike many of the major peaks of the chain Fagarasanul that are visible from Fagaras Depression.

In the Pleistocen climate cooling caused globe at an altitude of 1800-2000 m., In the Carpathian area, the emergence of the present situation of permanent snow.? For this reason there has been a large amount of snow accumulation and its gradual transformation into ice - Carpathian glaciation - which led sculpting glacial cirques, storage places. ?? In Holocene climate warming has resulted in glaciers, so the glacier were occupied by water and glacial lakes were formed.

The valley is a negative form of relief, narrow and elongated, with decreasing downstream slope created by the action of various forms of flowing water. It appears as a depression or hollow elongated land, crossed (permanently or temporarily) by a river. It may be a lowland region located below the surrounding lands and watered by a river.
