Russia’s secret underground facility
in the city of Mezhgorye. Set in the
mountains of Yamantau it is believed
that it was once associated with the
so-called ‘dead hand’ nuclear

ISE Grand Shrine is arguably one of
the most sacred and important
places in Japan. It is demolished and
rebuilt every 20 years. The only
people allowed to visit are the
Japanese Imperial Family and the
high priestesses and priests.
This place is also known as the “High
Point Special Facility” which is a major
relocation zone in case of national
disaster. Also home to the federal
public safety radio system.
RAF Menwith Hill is a Royal Air Base
with a slight difference. It provides
communications to the UK and the
US. It has been described as the
largest electronic monitoring station
in the world. Quite what they are
listening to is anybody’s guess...
