HEAVY DUTY UNITIZED CONSTRUCTION“5700” filters are built for long-lasting servicelife in operating conditions where dust loadingis heavy. 1" and 2" filters are completely handassembled with a heavy duty, chipboard framebonded to metal retainers placed on both sidesof a dense fiberglass media pad. For additionalrigidity, a stiffener bar is bonded to the frame inthe center of both sides of the filter. The entireassembly is secured by taping over the frame.

An alternate 2" die-cut frame “5700” is alsoavailable for applications that do not requiremetal retainers. Two mating die-cut boxes arebonded together to form a double-wall con-struction, the media pad is sealed to the frameto prevent leakage. Media pad support retain-ers are bonded to the media on both sides toprevent pad slippage and increase dust holdingcapacity.

The media is manufactured from a dense padof continuous filament glass fibers with a yel-low tint on the air leaving side.

Heavy Duty Panel Filters“5700” filters are designed for general airfiltration in various types of industrial andcommercial HVAC systems. Suitable forinstallation where dust loading conditionsare particularly heavy, “5700” filters also serve as excellent prefilters for higherefficiency filters.

� Progressive Density Media ConstructionThis unique construction enables “5700” fil-ters to hold more dirt throughout the entiredepth of the media. The fibers on the airentering side are interlaced with a more open pattern which becomes progressivelytighter towards the air leaving side.

When the media is clean, dirt particles pene-trate deeper before being trapped. As theback of the media loads, particles are caughtprogressively closer to the air entering sur-face. This exclusive media design eliminatesface loading and increases both arrestance(air cleaning capability) and dust holdingcapacity (service life).

� Viscosine® AdhesiveThe glass fibers are heavily coated with AAF’sexclusive Viscosine adhesive. The wickingaction of the highly viscous adhesive enablesit to cling to the fibers and thoroughly saturateeach dirt particle. This means accumulateddirt will not break away and blow downstream.

Viscosine maintains its dirt-trapping charac-teristic over the life of the filter. It is also non-toxic, flame retardant, odorless, andcompletely safe to handle.

� High Compression Strength“5700” media is treated with AAF’s speciallyformulated thermoset resin that forms astrong bond at each point where fibers inter-sect, resisting compression in the air stream.As the dirt load builds and resistance increases,the media maintains its thickness withoutcollapsing or face-loading.
