OpenCAPI Consortium: What is OpenCAPI ?
• OpenCAPI technology is an Open Interface Architecture that allows any microprocessor to attach to:
– Coherent user-level accelerators and I/O devices
– Agnostic to processor architecture
• Device attach
– Memory
– Accelerators
– Network
– Storage
– Etc.
• Latency: 10s of ns interface overhead (Typical PCIe round trip latency: ~100s ns)
• Bandwidth: 25G+ differential signalling
