Regulations• The Security Rule of the HIPAA and HITECH regulations

require covered entities to maintain reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards for protecting electronic Protected Health Information (e-PHI). Protected Health Information includes any information that can be used to identify a patient.

• Specifically, covered entities and their business associates must:

• App users can turn their app “Off” when necessary, which will disable the app’s notifications.

• (New messages will still be received in the Inbox)

• The app user will show up as “Off” to their other contacts, and contacts will be alerted if they send a message to the app user that the recipient is set to “Off.”
