Energy Audits

An energy audit is the identification of energy deficiencies in your home through the analysis of conservation opportunities throughout the home.

GreenGems professionals use the ability of benchmarking and walk-through auditing to determine conservation opportunities and solutions for commercial and residential properties.

LED Lighting

Traditional Incandescent Light bulbs are being phased out and discontinued as of the end of 2014.

With rising energy costs, LED bulbs can assist in saving up to 80% in energy costs specific to lighting

GreenGems offers LED retrofit programs to allow for manageable costs through overall savings on your bill.

LED Lighting

LED lights have a variety of advantages over other light sources:

• High-levels of brightness and intensity

• High-efficiency

• Low-voltage and current requirements

• Low radiated heat

• High reliability (resistant to shock and vibration)

• No UV Rays

• Long source life

• Can be easily controlled and programmed

LED LightingSpecific to savings choosing LED Lighting offers your home or business estimated savings based upon the formula:

(Days x Hrs/Day x Watts x Amount of bulbs) /1000 = KiloWattHour x Average rate = Total Cost

For Example: Incandescent (60 Watt):

(30days X 8hrs/day x 60watts x 30 bulbs)/1000= 432 KWH x .109(midpeak) = $47.088

For Example: LED (12.5 Watt)- Equivalent to 60 Watt Incadescent

(30days X 8hrs/day x 12.5watts x 30 bulbs)/1000= 90 KWH x .109(midpeak) = $9.81

Savings= Incandescent Cost- LED Cost

$47.088 - $9.81 = $37.278

PV Solar

The advantages of installing Solar Panels on your commercial or residential property are great. Not only does Solar help you to be more energy efficient, it also allows an opportunity to sell surplus energy to make you money.

Ontario Solar Programs such as the FIT & MicroFIT program offer the consumer an opportunity to earn money through Solar Power.

PV Solar

Solar power is energy that is created directly from the light or heat of the sun. One of the more common methods to convert sunlight into energy uses special solar panels called photovoltaic (PV) cells that capture the sun’s light and convert it directly into electricity. Current photovoltaic systems are able to convert about 12 to 15 percent of the solar energy they absorb to electricity.

Waste Heat Management

Waste Heat Management is the transfer of thermal energy into electricity that can be used to assist in conservation and in turn, savings.

Instead of being “wasted” by release into the ambient environment, sometimes waste heat (or cold) can be utilized by another process, or a portion of heat that would otherwise be wasted can be reused in the same process if make-up heat is added to the system.
