RESET DEFAULT SECURITY PROVIDERDelete the specified Registry entries to reset your

default security provider.

FOR WINDOWS 8.1/ 8/ 7/ VISTA:

1. Press Windows Key + R to fire up Run dialog.

2. Open Registry Editor 32 Bit. Type “RegEdt32.exe”

in the textbox, click OK.

3. In the Registry Editor dialog that opens, locate following

sub key:

• HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Cry

ptography

4. Delete the sub key named “Providers”.

5. Locate following sub key: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-

20\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers

6. Delete the sub key named “Providers”.

7. Exit out of the screen. Reboot.

CHANGE SYSTEM DRIVE LETTER

Again, this requires modifying your computer’s Registry

entries.

1. Open Registry Editor 32 Bit again. (Refer Steps

# 1-2 under Reset Default Security Provider section)

2. Locate the following sub key:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Mounted Devices

3. Right click a sub key named “Mounted Devices”

, select Permissions from context menu options.

4. This opens up a new dialog.

5. Specify full control to the Administrator user

account. To do so, select Administrator account under

Group or user names list box, and then check-up

“Full control” checkbox under Allow column.

6. Click Apply, and then OK.

7. Close the dialog, restart your PC.

8. Now open Registry Editor 64 Bit. To do so,

press Windows Key + R, type “RegEdit” and click OK.

9. Locate following sub key:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Mounted Devices

10. Double click "\DosDevices\C:" and replace its

value

with "\DosDevices\Z:" Remember, we assume C:

is system drive and Z: is an unused drive name.

11. Click OK, exit the tool.

12. Double click "\DosDevices\D:"

13. Replace its value with "\DosDevices\C:"

14. Click OK.

15. Double click “"\DosDevices\Z:"

16. Replace its value with "\DosDevices\D:"

17. Click OK.

18. Close Registry Editor 64 Bit. Restart your

computer for the changes to take effects.

DELETE MSC STARTUP ENTRY

For Windows 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:

1. Press Windows Key + R.

2. Type “RegEdit” and click OK. This opens up Windows

Registry Editor 64 Bit.

3. Locate the following sub key:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Wind

ows\ Current Version\Run\

4. Right click “MSC” string, select Delete.

Remember, the default String Value is given below:

“C:\Program Files\Microsoft Security

Client\msseces.exe” –hide -runkey

5. Exit Registry Editor.

DELETE OTHER MSC KEYS USING VISUAL BASIC SCRIPT

For Windows 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:

1. Open Notepad. To do so, press Windows Key +

R, type “Notepad” and click OK.

2. Type the following commands as they are very

carefully:

3. Click File menu, select Save as.

4. Specify the following:

• File Name: FixIt.vbs

• File Type: All Files

• Directory: Desktop

5. Exit Notepad.

6. Double click the newly created Visual Basic Script

file. Go ahead when you’re prompted to merge

the Registry entries in main database.

7. Restart the machine.

ENABLE CRYPTOGRAPHIC SERVICE AT WINDOWS STARTUP

For Windows 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista:

1. Press Windows Key + R, type “Services.msc”

and click OK.

2. Now that you’ve a list of all services-

both running and disabled.

3. Scroll down the page; right click “

CryptoGraphic Service” and select Properties.

4. This opens up a new dialog.

5. Set the Startup Type: Automatic from the

drop down box.

6. Click Apply, and then OK.

7. Exit the tool and restart your PC for the

changes

to take effects.

RUN POWERSHELL COMMANDS

With the help of Windows PowerShell, change the

system configurations related to module

troubleshooting pack in your system.

For Windows 8.1/ 8:

1. Press Windows Key + X, select Search.

2. Type “Windows PowerShell” in Search Box.

3. Click Apps icon and open the keyword from

Search Results.

4. You have now Windows PowerShell command-line

utility opened up.

5. Type the following commands very carefully: (Please

do not forget to press ENTER after each command)

6. Exit the tool and restart your computer.

For Windows 7:

1. Click Start.

2. Type “Windows PowerShell” and press ENTER.

3. Refer Steps # 5-6 under Windows 8.1/

8 user’s section.

For Windows Vista:

In case of these two operating systems you may have

to download it from the Microsoft Download Center.

After completing the installation, please refer Steps #

5-6 under Windows 8.1/ 8 user’s section.

REINSTALL LATEST MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK

For Windows 8.1/ 8:

1. Press Windows Key + X, select Programs and Features.

2. This lists out programs installed on your PC.

3. Right click and select Uninstall option for “Microsoft

4. Go through the Uninstaller instructions

and then reboot after completion.

5. Visit the Microsoft Download Center to get

latest

version and install it on your PC.For Windows 7/ Vista:

1. Click Start, type “Uninstall a program”

and press ENTER.

2. Refer Steps # 2-5 under Windows 8.1/ 8 user’s

section.
