By 2025, transport alone will be responsible for 60% increase in the total worldwide GHG emissions

FUEL SWITCH - A viable option

FUTURE 2: GREEN & “E-DRIVE”

•FUEL Switch to a Greener Fuel, naturally offsets CO2 emissions. Thus, one can look at generating CARBON CREDITS from such a switch.

•Generating data from a “MOBILE SOURCE” is very complex. Hence, till date, NO country in the world has a BASELINE DATA for transportation sector.

•EG Gas with EMS is about to change this situation!

Challenges in measuring the GHGin the transportation sector

The forecasting model used for determining GHG emissions in transport

sector are plagued by the simple fact that the future is fundamentally

uncertain and the transport system is immensely complex Source IEA

Compounding the measurement challenges, is the complexity of developing a baseline for the transportation sector. (No country has developed one yet.)

Baseline development is the first step towards identifying fuel-switch CDM & JI projects in transport sector.

IEA: “While baseline setting in the transport sector is admittedly difficult, it can be done and the long run payoff in terms of both climate and sustainable development of transport systems could be large.”

This EMS can be used to determine baseline, GHG emission reductionand personal transport’s carbon foot-print.

Tamper proof ID for every vehicle

Centralised data collection

Shock proof and weather proof

Applications on different mode of vehicle

Function

Unit of on board sensors

Runs on specific algorithms

Captures accurate fuel consumption of a vehicle not only while running, but also during idling and cold start

If vehicle is running on dual fuel, EMS accurately captures the distance travelled using each of these fuels separately

It can help develop a baseline in transportation sector for every city / state / country.

Applications

It can monitor GHG emission reduction for any fuel-switch CDM/JI project.

It can measure individual carbon foot-print from the road transport usage and give out foot-print data on every re-fuelling.

Individual ID, biometrics, driving license, emergency details and e-purse can also be loaded.

Particularly useful for the post 2012 Kyoto regime under the proposed individual “cap & trade” to monitor emissions of the transport sector.

October 2008 - we start the

process of establishing BASELINE

for a city, for the first time in the

WORLD.

The city is KOLKATA
