How to Install Jet Report Objects• NAV 2015 or 2016 Development

Environment• Click on Reports in Object Designer• Import Jet objects (File Import)• Do not need permission to import

How to Install in Word• Make sure Word is closed

• In the Jet Express for Word Installer Folder • Right click on Setup • Run as Administrator

Getting Started• Always start from NAV, not Word• Type “Report Layout Selection” in Search • Choose a report and click on Custom Layouts

Getting Started cont’d• Click on New• Give it a Description• Edit the Layout -> this launches Word• Run Report to see what it looks like

Tips• Use Labels (Captions) if NAV is multi-

language• Use Tables in Word – keeps it stable• Import blank Word doc to start fresh with existing Report Layout• Brand new reports need a new Report Object in the Object Designer

FAQ’s• Custom fields can be added through the

NAV Object Designer to any Report Object• Not intended to replace RDLC reports• French Report Object will need modification

– uses Euros• Cannot do calculations • Cannot filter data• Cannot create conditional replicators
