WHAT IS BROADBAND????

• The term broadband refers to the wide bandwidth characteristics of a transmission medium and its ability to transport multiple signals and traffic types simultaneously. The medium can be coax, optical fiber, twisted pair or wireless.

1G 2G 3G 4G 4G is 4th generation of mobile phone communication std. 4G provide mobile ultra broadband internet access.

4G networks are projected to provide speeds of 100 Mbps while moving and 1 Gbps while stationary.

1G Technology

1G refers to the first-generation of wireless telephone technology was developed in 1970’s.

1G had two major improvements:the invention of the microprocessorAnalog signal.

2G Technology

Around 1980’s

Better quality & capacity - More people could use there phones at the same time

Digital Signals – consist of 0’s & 1’s

3G Technology

Large capacity and broadband capabilities

Allows the transmission of 384kbps for mobile systems and up to 2Mbps

Increased spectrum efficiency –5Mhz A greater number of users that can be simultaneously

supported by a radio frequency bandwidth High data rates at lower incremental cost than 2G–

Global roaming

Fourth Generation

Cost reduction

FEATURES

4G STANDARDS

• 4G is set with mobile Wimax std and LTE std.

• LTE technology is the new radio interface that uses wide radio channels and delivers extremely high throughput rate.

• Wimax stands for worldwide interoperability for microwave access.

• Wimax is IP based wireless broadband access technology

• Wimax is a wireless digital communication system, also known as IEEE 802.16.

PROBLEMS WITH 4G

• Taking Time for the companies to make phones that are capable of that speeds .’

• Being able to access the Internet has an economic facet, as the cost of infrastructure, equipment, and services can determine the level of access available to regions, communities, and individuals.

RELIANCE PLANS TO LAUNCH 4G IN INDIA

• As per the latest reports, the company will first launch its 4G service in Jamnagar before launching it throughout the country.

• Apart from this, the company is also planning to set up 1,00,000 towers across all circles and to bring broadband plans for its 4G venture.

THANK YOU..!!
