Main technical components of NFRF

1. Use of organic fertilizer

2. Super rice or super hybrid rice & direct sowing

3. Controlled water management/Physiological requirement by plant

4. Weeds control by “Gucaobai”,senescence control by “Lilibao”

1、 Use of organic fertilizer

Thinning and adjustment

Traditional(Deep water irrigation) NFRF(Dry-wet alternation)

Controlled-water management

1. 1st time Watering: steeping the manures and fertilizers, field leveling ,seedbed making , direct sowing;

2. 2nd time watering at 3~4 leaf stage: milk-fertilizer application and pesticides;

3. 3rd time watering at 7~8 leaf stage: Tillering fertilizer application and pesticides;

4. 4th time watering at 12~13 leaf stage: Panicle fertilizer, pesticides and fungicides.

Water and fertilizer management

Four times full irrigation only

1st time : steeping manures and fertilizer, field leveling and direct sowing

Sowing rate: 13.5~15 kg/ha

2nd time : milk-fertilizer application and pesticides

3rd time : Tillering fertilizer application and pesticides

4th time : Panicle fertilizer( P、 K) , pesticides

Dry-wet alternation

Important: Keep wet soil condition during filling stage for a good grain setting, usually keep a narrow water in the slot.

Dew in early morning

Judgment of water stress

Weeds control by “Gucaobai”谷草败
