HI THERE.
LAURA HERE.
I’ve decided to run a marathon, and I need a little of your help.
SO…
WHY AM I RUNNING?
Have you met this woman?
Her name is Jenn, & she is a champion.
Her husband Nate is pretty great too.
THEY HAVE GIVEN ME
In June of 2010, Jenn was diagnosed with brain cancer, which she fought and won.
HURRAY!
But then, in December of 2011, they found lymphoma.
WHAT THE HECK IS LYMPHOMA?
• Cancer of the blood and lymphatic system
• Lymphoma is the name for a group of blood cancers that develop in the lymphatic system.
• Jenn has non-Hodgkin lymphoma (anaplastic large cell, to be exact).
• She is currently being treated with chemotherapy only.
Jenn told us that it felt as though she had approached the finish line of a 5K race, and just as she was about to finish, they said,“you’re going to have to run a marathon.”
Even still, she was determined to get to the finish line.
Four months later, because and, Jenn is tough, she has conquered lymphoma too.
GOD IS GOOD
FROM ALL THIS, I FELT INSPIRED
If she can fight off two forms of cancer in two years, then I can JOG a measly 26.2 miles FOR JENN to (1) let her know she isn’t alone, and (2) encourage the research efforts against lymphoma.
SO I’M JOGGING FOR JENN…
Training in Hawaii
