Church & Home: Redeeming the Family

(Ephesians 3:14- 4:13)

A Wholesome Family in Jesus Christ is a family marked by the redemptive work of God in their lives and relationships with one

another.

Growth Indicators

• Perfect vs Redeemed Families

• Parents sacrificing family to serve vs Parents serving out of the overflow of family strength

• Churchy children vs Children who know how to come back to the heart of the Father

Are we helping the church to become the #1 enemy of the

home?

Key Prayer Pursuits

• Spirit-empowered Christ centered being (Eph. 3:16-17)

• Filled with God being rooted and established in the love of Christ (Eph. 3:17-19)

Key Prayer Outcomes

• Live worthy of your calling (Eph. 4:1) – your starting point

– Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. (Ps. 127:1)

– Walk closely with the Heart Specialist (Prov. 21:1)

Look to the Heart Specialist

• Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. (Isaiah 43:5)

• But this is what the LORD says: "Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save. (Isaiah 49:25)

Look to the Heart Specialist

• This is what the LORD says: "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,“ declares the LORD. "They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your future," declares the LORD. "Your children will return to their own land. (Jeremiah 31:16-17)

• Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Psalm 112:1-2)

Key Prayer Outcomes

• Relationships marked by love (Eph. 4:2) – your biological and faith families

– Basic motivation for repentance (Rom. 2:4)

Key Prayer Outcomes

– Standard of forgiveness (Eph. 4:32)

Church-Home Synergy

• So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)
