Unveiling Heaven’s Agenda

Matthew 18:20 states, “For where two or three are gathered in My NAME,

there am I among them”. Identify two people in this room. Purposefully decide

to pray for revival at the same time each day until

next week.

Evaluate your life. What signs indicate

that you need revival? How will stir the flame of revival in

your life?

Introduction• Every true BELIEVER is COMMISSIONED and EMPOWERED by GOD to DO the WORK of GOD. Some COMMISSIONING EXPERIENCES are DRAMATIC (the heavens are torn apart); other experiences are not so dramatic (the still small voice of God’s Spirit tugs at the heart with an AWARENESS that one is called). Nevertheless, every BELIEVER is COMMISSIONED and EMPOWERED by GOD’S SPIRIT.

Introduction• The AWARENESS of the COMMISSION and

POWER, however, is a different matter. Too many are not aware of GOD’S COMMISSION and of the SPIRIT’S PRESENCE within. What makes the difference? The first two points: one’s DECISION and SUBMISSION, one’s BEGINNING and IDENTIFICATION. Too many of us lack a consistent commitment in both steps. As a result, we wander through life unaware of GOD’S COMMISSION and the presence of GOD’S SPIRIT EMPOWERING us to do the task.

Introduction• Too many of us do not make a decision to

FOLLOW CHRIST totally; we do NOT SURRENDER all we are and have to Christ. Therefore, we are NOT AWARE of the great CALL and COMMISSION of Christ. Too many of us do not begin with Christ; we just NEVER IDENTIFY with Him. We may be baptized, but we NEVER FOLLOW through with Christ. The world NEVER KNOWS that we are a FOLLOWER of CHRIST, not a committed, genuine follower. “You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in My NAME, He may give it you” (John 15:16).

Introduction• JESUS’ BAPTISM involved a

COMMISSIONING and an EMPOWERING. This is seen in the HEAVENS OPENING and the SPIRIT DESCENDING upon Him. His COMMISSIONING was a dramatic moment. The word “OPENED” (schizamenous) really means “RENT ASUNDER or TORN APART”. In this dramatic moment, GOD dramatically TORE APART the barrier between Heaven and earth, and allowed the GLORY of HEAVEN to seen. During this time, JESUS was being COMMISSIONED and SET APART by Heaven itself.

Introduction• The EMPOWERING of JESUS was also a very DRAMATIC moment. The SPIRIT of GOD descended upon JESUS in the form of a “DOVE”. This event was not only IDENTIFYING JESUS as the Messiah, it was declaring that the SPIRIT of GOD and the POWER of GOD were His. It belonged to Him! He was given the POWER of ATTORNEY to DO the WORK of GOD (John 3:34).

Introduction• There was also something else symbolized in the

“DOVE”. The WORK which JESUS was to DO would be the WORK of PEACE and PURITY (John 1:32-33). He is the PRINCE of PEACE (Isaiah 9:6). “For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us” (Ephesians 2:14). No wonder JESUS stated, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). The Spirit’s descending upon Him was definitely an EMPOWERING experience as well as an IDENTIFYING experience.

Conclusion• The key is not becoming overly focused on the

specific method of releasing God’s Presence- whether it would be through decree, prophetic acts, faith, anointed cloths, etc. The focus must always be the Presence of God that empowers the method, as methods are subject to change, even on a situational basis. In fact, God will most likely introduce you to new, potentially unusual methods of releasing His Presence. If the focus is always Him, however, then there is always room to be adventurous in the methods- just as long as they do not distract from His Presence, His work, and His Word. Release His Presence!
