GUILTY orNOT

GUILTY?Romans 3:21-

31

Explanations on what God has done on the

cross:

1) Regarding our sins:They were forgiven, removed

Explanations on what God has done on the

cross:2) Regarding us:

we were delivered or rescued from

eternal damnation

We were RANSOMED!

ALL THESE POINT TO ONE THING:His salvation leads us to

VICTORY and we are rewarded with ETERNAL

life

In a legal sense, it means

declaring one just or

RIGHTEOUS

Romans 9:30-31; 3:9,19

(By the works of the LAW)

Jews & Gentiles & all of us!

Can each group of people do

anything to earn

JUSTIFICATION?

But God is the just GOD.

He takes no bribes,

He does not pervert justice, what is truth is

truth!

But when we received

Jesus (Romans 10:10),

something great

happened!

In a spiritual sense, GOD tapped the gavel and HE declared you“NOT GUILTY!”(Romans 3:21-

26)as if you have not

1) Through the redemption –that is in Christ Jesus! God set forth as propitiation, satisfied with the sacrifice by accepting itExpiation - removing the evil nature of sin

2) BY HIS blood

3) through faith

4) To demonstrate His righteousness not ours

5) His forbearance (passed over the sins that were previously committed)

6) That He might be JUST and the JUSTIFIER of the ONE WHO HAS FAITHin JESUS.(3:28 – apart from the deeds of the Law)

This is grace –something that God does without any regard for what we do or do not do

THERE IS ONE GOD

WHO JUSTIFIES!

No one should boast! (3:27;

4:2)Boasting is shut out from

our justification(I Cor.1:28-

31)

Conclusion:If you are already a believer, do you realize now that when you come to Him, you should come to Him with all humility and respect and reverence–after all that He has done for you?

There are many people around us who have not experienced God’s grace yet. Remember

Action:Pray for someone who also needs grace now.

Reflection:1) Describe the feeling of someone ‘guilty” yet declared ‘not guilty”.2) Do you admit that, sometimes, you compare your own good works with others? How do you feel about this? The next time you have this feeing, how will you check yourself?3) Check your worship life. How do you show God’s grace in your worship?

Memory verse:romans 5:1
