The good news for ministry with children, young people & families | 24 March 2012

Welcome

An integrated / intergenerational church family where difference is valued.

Text

“All of us in the Church in positions of leadership – and I say this to myself above all – need to be aware of what we have to learn from the concerns and the faith and the witness and the questions of our young people."

Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt 18v2)

DOES YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL VISIT THE HORSTEAD CENTRE?

The Horstead Centre

The children thank you for ‘a week to remember’ and I know that it really is a week they will not forget. Past pupils often come back to school saying that Horstead was one of their happiest memories at school.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

LORD, MAKE US SALTSALT

Stop things

from going

Wrong.

Lord, make us salt

Make our minds and all our senses alert to seeing your strategies for the kingdom.

To choose your paths in salty service: to stand in the way of wrong, to prevent evil where we can see it rearing its head, to protect the weak, the poor, the left our, the pushed aside.

LORD, MAKE US SALTSALT

Help make

good flavours

stongs

Lord, make us salt

Bring out the strong salty flavours of your gospel in our lives, in our conversations, in our decisions, in our caring and our creating.

LORD, MAKE US SALTSALT

Help to healLord, make us salt

May our presence in our communities, our churches, our relationships be an agent of your healing. Heal the brokenness around us, and heal the wounds within us.

HOPE.

FEAR.

Young people will come Young people will come when they feel they are when they feel they are being taken seriously; being taken seriously; when they have the when they have the opportunity to ask opportunity to ask questions and when questions and when they have the chance to they have the chance to develop as people develop as people within the church.within the church.
