“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:10 (ESV)

“…even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:28 (ESV)

DWJD - Do What Jesus Did!

• Jesus came to save the lost & serve the least

• His followers today should focus on the same thing

• That’s what the Externally Focused Life is all about

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)

How are we doing?

• North America is the only continent where the church isn’t growing

• Of around 300,000 churches, less than half have added a single person to their membership in the last year.

• While 1,300 churches will be started in the next year, 3,750 will close.

What can WE do?

• Serve how you can, where you can - across the street, in your community.

• The world literally begins at our doorsteps.

What Can WE Do?

• Paint

• Rake leaves

• Repair cars,

• Be a big brother or sister

• Support a homeless shelter

• Work at a food pantry

• Make friends with the misbehaving child next door

• Serve at a crisis pregnancy center

• Mentor youth…

PRAY & INVITE

• Pray for those in your life that need a relationship with Jesus

• Invite your friends to opportunities for them to hear this message — how about in your own living room?

Then they said to each other, “What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves.

2 Kings 7:9 (NIV)
