The Goode Legacy

Generation 1, Part 7

+

I was amused one night to see Emily pop up “Steal back gnome” in her queue. Even though she’s only about 9, I decided to let her go. I’ve seen pictures in other people’s sim stories of kids going to get gnomes. They make the cutest evil faces. This is the face Emily gave me. She just walked out of the house clapping her hands together lightly. I was disappointed…

+

…until she did this! You can’t always tell that Emily only has three nice points, but she shows it very clearly here. Isn’t she cute?

+

And there is Gnorm the Gnome safe and sound. Thanks, Emily!

+

The family had quite a bit of money—almost $20,000—and Melchior rolled the want to buy a vacation home. There was one on Twikkii Island that was about that expensive, so I let Melchior buy it. The family ended up with about $126 in the bank after that, but both Melchior and Sylvia have high paying jobs, so it wasn’t too long before the bank account filled up again.

+

Eli’s hard work finally paid off. He got an A+! There, Eli, wasn’t all that homework worth it?

+

And Emily managed an A+ too! Good job, sweetie!

+

I was surprised to get these pop ups. I didn’t realize how much time had gone by already. I am glad that both the twins had full aspiration meters. For while there I was worried about Eli. (The homework just wasn’t his thing.)

+

Just before their birthdays the twins managed to become best friends. Good job, guys!

+

Eli! I was going to throw you a birthday party! Your mother was just about to get on the phone and invite people! I bought you cake! Why couldn’t you wait?

“I dunno. Can I play the drums now?”

“Not until you change out of that ugly outfit, mister. You’re lucky I sent your dad shopping earlier today.”

+

Emily! You too? Well at least your outfit looks nice. That vest your brother’s wearing has got to go. How does it feel to be a teenager, my little heiress?

“These pigtails have to go. Can I play the drums after I fix my hair?”

+

I use the Sim Randomizer from notovny.com to roll for aspirations and turn ons/turn offs. It saves me having to dig up some dice. Emily rolled family. She likes guys in hats who like to cook, but not if they’re wearing jewelry. I think I’ll let her keep family for now, but she might reroll in college.

+

Eli rolled family too. He likes blondes with glasses but not redheads. I think he’ll reroll his aspiration junior year too.

+

Emily wants to reach her golden anniversary—a totally doable LTW and one that I haven’t done before. I think I might keep Emily as family after junior year of college. We’ll see what wants she rolls.

+

Eli wants to marry off 6 children, which is another reason why he will be rerolling his aspiration in college. As a spare, Eli, you get to have maybe 2 kids tops, so you’d never get this anyways.

+

I guess having teenagers made Melchior feel old. He decided he really wanted to write his memoirs—the story of his long journey toward fame. He can’t finish the novel until he becomes an Icon, of course, but he’s working on the beginning parts.

+

And here is Emily with her hair out of those pigtails. I think she looks older than 13 here, actually, but she wanted the pigtails gone. You look very pretty, sweetheart.

+

And Eli, you look very handsome too. I still can’t pick out which features are from which parent on either of the twins, but they both look nice.

+

Eli did go to play the drums after I finished his makeover. He’s actually very good. He must have gotten more creativity points than I thought he did when he was younger.

+

Emily couldn’t play the drums since her brother was on them, so she went over and started making some mac and cheese (her favorite food).

+

Unfortunately she burned it. Poor thing. She doesn’t have any cooking points yet. She served the crispy mac anyways and the whole family ate it without gagging, bless them.

+

Emily got to the drums later and enjoyed them as much as her brother. She’s also pretty good.

+

Sylvia needs creativity points for her next promotion, so she joins Emily on bass. If I got them enough instruments, the Goodes could start a family band.

+

Meanwhile Eli and his dad hang out on the front walk.

+

To celebrate the twins’ birthday—since they didn’t wait for their party—the Goodes decide to go on vacation to Twikkii Island.

Sylvia wasn’t as excited as the others. She was supposed to work this weekend! Melchior convinced her to take a couple days off and the suggestion that she could meet new people convinced her to go along.

Join me and the Goode family next time for a vacation on Twikkii Island!
