The Hunt begins!

Well…Since we have all the supplies needed…without any

hunting…

ITS TIME TO BURN

We need 2 cups of water..

OF COURSE WE CAN’T FORGET THE MOST

IMPORTANT INGREDIANT…

4 cups of SUGAR

Its been a while since its been cooking….NOW ITS STARTING

TO BOIL!!!

ATTACK!!!!!!

Mix mix mix…WITH A WOOOOOODEN SPOOooOooN!

Now POUR IT INTO A JAR!!! :D

Now…we must cover it with wax paper…Yes the box I’m holding is

wax paper.

OH NO! WAX PAPER!! DON’T GO INTO THE DISHWASHER

Ahaha…Safe…

The finishing result of covering the jar with wax paper!!

We must use the string of hope… hehehe…

So we tie the string of hope to the middle of the pencil and the wash

NOW DIP THE PENCIL REAL QUICK AND TAKE IT OUT!!!

Now we leave it out to dry for a few days…PEACE!!!

I DID…O-KAAYYEEE!

Day 1-2 of drying…

Now we finally get to put it inside the jar!...Day 1 of forming

Day 2 close up…

Day 3

Day 4!

Day 5

Day 6…not much change =[

Day 7…WAA STILL NO FORMING?! ;-;

Day 8…I can barely see it…

So on day 9 I discovered a problem with my Felson-Bonbon…(Rock Candy)! It was too late to redo another one…but That’s alright… I learned what I did wrong. I believed that I either added too much water, or It didn’t evaporate enough!!! So now…All I have is gooey sugar!! Sob sob sob…

DUN DUN DUN….FAILZ

In the beginning I added 2 cups of water and 4 cups of sugar together and allowed it to boil. After it was boiling I started stirring until it all completely dissolves. Afterwards I poured it into a Jar. By boiling the solution I created a supersaturated solution! Meaning, no more sugar can be dissolved into the solution at a particular temperature. And so its so unstable that the sugar will come to form, or precipitate.

Earlier I soaked the string with the washer and set it out to dry. The reason is that by letting it dry, I was able to allow a starting point for the crystals to grow. Now what makes the crystal grow is evaporation. When water evaporates, the solution slowly becomes saturated and collect on the string like a magnet! But sadly my Rock Candy did not form…

AND SO I AM SORRY TO SAY BUT THE CANDY COMPANY OF MANGO MUST CLOSE BEFORE EVEN SELLING OUT THEIR FIRST CANDY PRODUCT! WE ARE VERY SORRY IF YOU WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!
