WHAT IS IFTTT?

IFFFT is a web service that automates a lot of your web function to make life easier!

How does it work?

In this tutorial I will teach you what IFTTT is all about.

I N T R O D U C I N G . . .

Let’s start this step by step

guide on how to use this!

In your URL, type this

Or you can go to your favorite browser and type

IFTTT.

Type IFTTTby cathymorido@gmail.com 01.28.2016

Select IFTTT

You’ll be directed here…

Click to create accountby cathymorido@gmail.com 01.28.2016

This will appear….

Type the necessary details here

Click Create account

This will appear….

Then Click on this

A sample “TRIGGER” will appear.

Then Click on that

A sample “ACTION” will appear.

Click continue

This will appear…by cathymorido@gmail.com 01.28.2016

Click continue

This will appear.

It will ask you to select for 3 more channels.

Let’s choose Facebook, Instagram & Gmail.

This will appear.

Click Continue

This will appear.

This new window will appear.

You can also confirm your account via your email.

Here’s the email…

Click Confirm your account

Congratulations! Your account now has been

confirmed!

But wait…

For this tutorial, we will discuss one by one the different tools and try to apply it as we go along.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!

Let’s start using IFTTT!

There are 4 tabs located at the upper right corner of the

IFTTT homepage.

You will see this.

CLICK ON RECIPE.

What is a “RECIPE”?

RECIPETriggers = this

Action = that

This are the formulas you set up deciding which triggers will

prompt with actions.

3 Parts of Recipe.

RECOMMENDED

RECIPEThis are the recipe created by others users and is much easier than using

your own.

This are the recipe that enables you to create your personalized button, camera &

notepad. This are available on IOS and android only.

DO RECIPE

This are the recipe that creates powerful connection with one simple statement – if

this then that.

IF RECIPE

Click Browse.

You will find recommended or pre-defined recipes to certain platform.

BROWSE TAB

Click Channels.

Then this will appear…

Now, what is a CHANNEL???

CHANNEL = SERVICES

There over 100+ channels to choose

from and the list are always increasing!

Click your account.

You will see this.

HOW DO I MAKE RECIPE?

2 OPTIONS :

OPTION 1:

Do your own recipe.

OPTION 2:

Use Pre-made recipes.(Recommended, IF & DO recipe)

Let’s try option#1

Do your own recipe.

Click to your account.

Click Create.

Click on this

It will ask you to choose a trigger channel.

For this, we will use Facebook as a trigger

channel.

Type in facebook.

Click on the icon.

Click Connect.

IFTTT will connect you to Facebook.

Please note that every time you will try to connect IFTTT

to other networks,

You’ll be asked to log-in to your network account to

authorize IFTTT to use your account.

Enter details here.

Click on Log In.

Facebook will notify/ask permission on you for the

following actions..

Click Okay.

Click Done.

Click continue .

This will appear.

(What do you want facebook to do for you?”

Choose a trigger!

Click on your chosen trigger!

Create Trigger!

This will appear.

Now click on that.

This will appear.

(What other network I want it to be linked with?)

Choose action channel!

Type in action channel.

..or scroll down to search.

Click on Twitter icon.

Click on connect.

IFTTT will connect you now with twitter.

Enter details here.

Click authorize app.

This will appear.

(What do you want twitter to do for you?”

Choose an action!

Click on your chosen action!

Create a tweet text...

That what IFTTT is going to

post on twitter…

..whenever you have a status update on Facebook.

Create action!

Create Recipe!

Check the Recipe Title.by cathymorido@gmail.com 01.28.2016

To check the recipe we created…

There should be

Recipe ID.by cathymorido@gmail.com 01.28.2016

Or click on My Recipe.by cathymorido@gmail.com 01.28.2016

This should appear!

What else can we do for the recipe we created?

To edit or erase the recipe…

Click on the recipe icon…

..or click the pencil icon

TURN OFF..When you want to stop from using it.

PUBLISH..To publicize and allow others to use it.

CHECK NOW..To check on recipes created.

LOG..To check on recipes logs.

DELETE..To simply delete recipe.

Let’s now try to post a status on Facebook.

Then let’s check on my Twitter account.

Immediately right after I posted on my facebook

account, a tweet text was sent on my tweeter account.
