Dehumanize an attacker before using a firearm

The dangerous situation you are in

Pointing a gun or weapon at someone is serious.

You may feel guilty or are second-guessing yourself.

In the face of life threatening danger, it is not the time to have second thoughts.

Before pulling that gun, quickly dehumanize your attacker.

Not all people are good, but they do have backgrounds

They may have a wealth of individuality and are humans with emotions.

The police and military are often depicted using terminology like “the perp” or “target acquired” to dehumanize.

If your life is on the line, separate your attacker’s humanity from the sight in front of you.

Be prepared

Alien Gear Holsters provides a gun range training guide.

Understand your firearm.

Have it holstered and ready to be pulled. Inside the waistband holsters provide concealment. Outside the waistband holsters provide warning.

Tactics on the gun range

No two scenarios are the same, but there are common themes.

Have the mindset in the range that you are training to save your life.

Gun range training will help a frightened mind in danger.

End up on the breathing end of the conflict

Understand your firearm or concealed carry weapon beforehand with handgun training.

Have a clear mind and detach yourself from the attacker.

Take deep breaths.

It’s up to you. Draw your CCW and shoot the attacker trying to take your life or hesitate and potentially end up dead.

Be prepared to defend yourself from an attacker. Dehumanize them before they wipe you from humanity.
