Developing a car for German market. Engine should be alternative to fuel driven engine. (salt water

driven) Car selling price should be maximum 60000 €. Launching the car in the market.

Years.• Engine to meet Euro V emission norms.• Weight 200 Kg.• NVH level to be less than 40 dBA • High performance engine ( 95 to 135 HP).• To be compatible with conventional engine.

Value addition & Value engineering

The manufacturing process requires Design considerations, handcrafting & simplification and some High-Tech approach.

In Body shop the “space frame” is handcrafted at 8 work stations Space frame made of Aluminium Managing work force of around 65 working in shifts Subassemblies are welded or glued together.

Manufacturing

Operating components and interior of the car is completed at 10 work stations

Appointing new skilled work force, new machines At the final station, a lengthy and thorough visual inspection

concludes the Quality audit.

Assembly

Study of existing assembly line to check suitability for new engine & car

Modifications if required Set up new work stations & accordingly making new SOP for

relevant processes Separate testing cabins for new engine testing

Government is planning to get at least one million electric or other environment friendly vehicles on road by 2020 .

Diffusion of AFV’s might rise sharply in two years due to two reasons :-

Consumer Price for diesel and gasoline are rising continuously . Governments Emission Norms are going to be more strict to maintain GHG emission .
