Make sure your contact info iscurrent & up-to-date

Be sure to use aprofessional

email address that you check regularly

Objective

Your Objective is your chance to “sell” yourself and present some of your background and soft skills

When applying to a specific job, use this section to highlight the skills

relevant to the position

Experience(the most important part)

Make sure you call it experience and not employment

That way you can list both paid and unpaid work

Put the Company Name, your Position and the Dates all in

Bold or ItalicsAnd list your experience in reverse chronological order,

with all past experience in past tense, and your current position in present tense

Under each job title, list each of your most important

job functions in order of significance and relevancy to the job you are seeking

Use numbers and values when discussing your accomplishments

You want to eliminate any !

the hiring manager may haveguesswork

So include all dates and relevant coursework to help tell

your story

If you’re currently in school, or graduated recently

you can place education before your experience

and list your expected graduation date and degree

Otherwise, list your education lastand list the year you received your degree

If you didn’t graduate, don’t worry!

Clearly notate all credits earned towards the degree or program in which you were

enrolled

Tailor your resume to match the job for which you are applying to help you

stand out from the crowd

You don’t want to leave out anything important, and you

can always adjust the margins!
