How will you use knowledge?

Minds Alive 2013 S.G.H.S

Stepping Up To Make A Change

Our shoes tell the story of how we would like to use our Minds Alive

learning to make a positive change in our world both now and in the future. We used an App called Colar Mix . e coloured in our shoes and then used

the App to get the 3 D effect.

Mrs Ineson showed us a clip she saw at U Learn.

The message was that information is

powerful but how we use it defines us.

This is how we want to be defined.

Larni- 4 million deaths world wide caused by smoking , I want to stop the selling of

cigarettes .

Grace - New Zealand has one of the highest rates of physical child abuse in the world. I want to see a greater punishment for any

kind of abuse introduced.

Abigail - At least 74, 785 children and young people aged under 17 were present in

domestic violence situations attended by police.

I want safe places and more programmes available for children to access when this

happens.

Mubashirah - the amount of bombs that have exploded in Afghanistan.

I want people to stop killing innocent people .

Simons Caughey -there are substantial differences in cancer rates across the world. I would like to look at the impact of diet on

reducing surgery needed for cancer.

Abby Gough - I want to prevent and reduce the risk of cancer.

Katelyn Sutton - there are currently 2,078, 957

refugees in Syria.

I want to stop the war.

Laura Dennis- In the United States the temperature has

increased by two degrees over the last 50 years. I want to reduce the amount of Greenhouse

gases worldwide.

McKenzie Smith - there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere today than at any pointing the last 800,00years. I want to reduce the amount of fossil fuels being used to cutdown the amount of

green house gases.

Ella Smith - 70% of divorced fathers loose contact with their kids.

I want to help children get in contact with parents.

Mikayla Pearsey- smoking takes ten years off

your life.

Make New Zealand smoke free.

This is our padlet wall where we looked at how Malala used knowledge to define her.
