• Moral Reasons• It is everybody’s right to come to work and return home uninjured by the work they do.• As an international Business ISS want to ensure that they are seen as a moral company where people would want
to come and work.• Legal Reasons
• Ensuring that ISS comply with the full requirements of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and all of the associated regulations that have been issued under that umbrella legislation.
• Ensure that we fully comply with all the requirements of any visiting HSE Inspector or Local Authority Environmental Health Officers.
• Financial Reasons• The costs of getting it wrong are increasing all the time and under current legislation we could be charged up to 10%
of the turnover of the business in terms of fines.• Additional to the costs of fines are the associated legal costs which can on occasions be more expensive than the
fines themselves.• There are also the costs associated with civil claims by employees following accident s at work.
