On Thursday, November 21st our small group from college park church went to the Ronald mcdonald

house at the riley hospital for children in Indianapolis, in. The Ronald mcdonald house serves families & individuals while they are at

hospitals visiting/staying with ill family members. At this particular house, we were serving families

with sick children. Several members from our small group cooked a meal for the visitors including taco

salad, fruit cups, drinks, and desserts. We then served the families dinner for 2 hours. This

particular night, we almost ran out of food because the volume of visitors was so high. Once all of the families were served we sat around & ate dinner

with the families just visiting with them, talking with them, asking for prayer requests, and simply caring for their needs. Once the house closed for the night

we also helped clean up & tear down.

In order to sustain our relationship with the Ronald mcdonald house, we plan to (and already have

been) volunteer every third Thursday of the month to serve dinner & talk with the families. Our small

group has been going to this recurring service project for the past few months, and it has been so

rewarding every time we serve. Great conversations are had & encouragement is spread to those visiting the hospital as well as those who are serving. We will continue to serve in this way

each third Thursday of the month.

If the Ronald mcdonald house were to win the prize money, the office manager, daun hughey, said, “all funds will be used for the general operating budget

of both houses in order to fulfill out mission in providing a home-away-from-home for families with

serious, ill, or injured children.”
