The India Project Story
Recap!
How it Started
• Aug 11, 2011- I received an email from Isaac Arullappan, the Past President of Rotary Club of Manapparai Club of India. Met him Nov
• He runs DKSHA a social help organization he started.
• Found our Rotary Club website (Yes websites work!)
DKSHA
• Provides dignity to the poorest of the poor• Helps orphans, women starting a business,
treats patients, helps farmers, helps educate children going to school.
• Cornerstone Orphanage is run by DKSHA• Everyone I’ve talked to thinks Isaac is a hero.
It’s hard not to assist hero's.
Clive GoodingRotarian in Perth Western Australia
• “Isaac and his wife Isabella are both school teachers who gave up their well paid jobs (by Indian standards) to come back and run the Cornerstone orphanage and DKSHA”

From Final Report
• The school administration can retain their government financial aid to run the school. There was always a threat to withdraw the government financial aid because the school had asbestos sheeted roof. The school management was almost going to loose the Government Aid. But this project has changed the whole condition and saved the village school.
• This building also will be used for various community programs such as parent teachers meetings, programs for rural youth, village level social awareness programs. Such program will be used on days of school holidays.
• The stage, the lighting systems, the concrete roofs will facilitate such community programs.
• Rainwater harvest has been incorporated, connecting the
entire roof to guide the rain water into the earth to raise the ground water level.
Making a Difference: Priceless!
