Introduction

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined as the voluntary activities undertaken by a company to operate in an economic, social and environmentally sustainable manner.

In simple word it means “whatever we take from earth i.e natural resourses like land water etc. We must give them to society back again” .

Sports Inclusive Growth the touchstone of sustainability

InfrastructureTata Power has initiated a range of infrastructure activities for providing safe drinking water, asphalting roads for better accessibility and developing local and community assets for public use :

Eight water bodies (well, bore well and pond) were renovated12 R.O. plants in schools and one unit of 1000 lph in a village

were installed in partnership with WASMO (Government of Gujarat) to provide safe drinking water.

A total of 33 sanitation units were constructed for healthy and hygiene of people. 7.5 km road asphalted at hydro power operations in Maharashtra.

Two community halls, one check dam and one culvert were built for community use.

Specialised health camp and Awareness on Health,

Hygiene including HIV/ AIDS etc

Tata Main HospitalsHospitals in Gobarghati, Joda, Sukinda,

Belpahar, Beleipada and Bamnipal ICU in Joda and Bolangir. Mobile Health Clinics for the rural interiors .AIDS awareness, Project Astha and regular

health Camps.“Lifeline Express” brought 5 times to the

remote rural villages of Orissa & 10 times to other parts of the Country Better Health Infrastructure.

Education & Skill DevelopmentCreating educational infrastructure (renovation

of classroom, sanitation etc)providing education materials to students, special coaching for children and adult literacy etc.

The major initiative under this was comprehensive education program i.e., providing special coaching in 300 Primary schools of 272 Villages, across Nirsa block in Jharkhand. This has covered 13452 students by 762 volunteers.

gradation Motor driving Soap making Motor repair Stitching &

designing Fight Against HIV/AIDS Project , among long distance truckers Project & support to the HIV/AIDs affected.

RURAL ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT

 Community entrepreneurship Facilitated more than 500 enterprises.

Sport

A unique one year long Sports (Football) coaching program was arranged for 38 students at Haldia (West Bengal) keeping in mind the local culture and passion of students and youth as this have helped in retention of students in school.
