#2 Determine how you want to serve
Typically held from 8 am to noon on Saturdays
Volunteers usually notified within 2-3 days of event
Gleaning site typically located within 30-minute drive from Tri-Cities

Arrive at the gleaning site…listen for instructions
Finally, it’s time to harvest!
2 types of jobs at the Gleaning Site Runners
• transport crop to transportation vehicle
• distribute empty buckets/crates to pickers
Pickers pick the
crop
• Must be 16 years of age or older to use a ladder
• Use ladders only when the farmer has approved them.
• Use ladders with caution and only if you are familiar with how to properly use them.
• Always set the “leg” uphill and make sure all 3 points are securely placed.
• Do not: step off the ladder onto a
tree branch. use the upper two steps of
the ladder. jump from a ladder when
descending.

We take the produce to 2nd Harvest in Pasco. 2nd Harvest stores and distributes the produce to local food banks in
Benton & Franklin counties.
After we pick the produce…
