This is our family’s dog Star!

Star is a female nine month old puppy. We received her over the summer last year to see if we could take care a pet. She belongs to the toy breed known as the Havanese.

The Havanese are considered one of the best dog breeds for families to raise as they are small, like people, and are easy to train.

The Havanese breed originate from Cuba where they are a separate branch of Poodles. These dogs have very smooth almost silk-like coats which shade them from the heat.

While the Havanese are extremely kind towards people, they require extensive care. They need constant attention as they are very social dogs.

Alongside their trust and friendship, you also have to take care of their fluffy coat as well.

This requires constant showering….

Even if they don’t like getting wet!

Grooming is also a necessity in order to keep their coats fresh and soft.

Havanese dogs usually sell for around one thousand dollars...

But our family was very lucky and we got Star for only eighty dollars in a local puppy litter.

One of Star’s favorite things to do is to explore all corners of the house.

She also loves to eat as much as humanly possible.

But her favorite thing to do is go on car trips!

Even if we don’t condone it, she loves to show her driving skills.

We may have babied Star a bit too much...

… because she spends most of the day...

… being VERY lazy.
