Features
The STMR is like having one of our popular STR drives built into the back of a motor. Features:
Step Direction or Step CW + Step CCW 16 step resolutions Step Noise Filter eliminate incoming electrical noise Step Smoothing Filter makes full & half step smooth 50% or 90% idle current to reduce heating & save power 50%, 70%, 90% or 100% running current Load Inertia: High or Low Self Test

Setup
Steps/rev Setting this higher will make
the motor run more smoothly
and position more precisely.
But you’ll need a high frequency pulse source to get the same shaft speed.

Setup
Step Pulse TypeIf the motor only turns one way, this setting may
be wrong

Setup
Step SmoothingIf the STMR is set for 200 or 400 steps/rev, it may make extra noise or run roughly. Turning on step smoothing will fix that.

Setup
Step Noise Filter If the motor is not positioning accurately, try the 150 kHz setting. If you can’t command a high enough speed, try the 2.0 MHz setting.

Setup
Current Fine Tuning Reducing the motor current • saves power • reduces motor temperature• lowers audible noise

Setup
Idle Current50% idle current will save power and reduce motor temperature.90% is useful if you need to support a vertical load.

Setup
Load Inertia
If the motor is running poorly, this
setting might be wrong.

Setup
Self Test
If the motor won’t spin, try the self test. If it still won’t turn, your load might be jammed. If it does spin under self test but not from your pulse source, there might be a problem with your pulse source or the wiring.
