The instructions I used for the Emory Cold Case project in order to show students how to setup Zotero accounts and connect to the OCR'd document database.

1) Go to Zotero.org. Register for a Zotero Account. Use the email address where you received my email.

2) Join the Zotero Shared Library. You should have received an email prior to class.

3) Return to Zotero.org and click on the Download Now button.

4) Install Zotero Standalone.

5) Open Zotero. Navigate to Zotero→ Preferences→ Sync. Log in using your Zotero account.

6) Click the Sync button. Wait for it to finish. It will be some time.

7) Go to Zotero→ Preferences→ Search. Install PDF Indexing.

8) Click “Rebuild Index.” Click “Index Unindexed Items.” Wait.

9) Change Search Box from “All Fields & Tags” to “Everything.”

10) To search all files, select the tan “Cold Case Project” folder. Enter term in search box.
