Tree of Knowledge and the Back Creek bore windmill, Barcaldine, Queensland.

The Tree of Knowledge is a ghost gum growing in Oak Street in Barcaldine. It was the original meeting place for the Shearers' Strike in 1891. The windmill in the background marks the Back Creek bore which was the first free-flowing bore in Barcaldine.

The Zephyr windmill measures 14 feet across the fan area and is on Knapp's Bore at Cambooya. There is a galvanised iron water tank beside the bore and a farm worker is watching the pump function.

Mr. J. Bennett, O.B.E crowning Majella Lynch at the Artesian Festival Ball. The Artesian Festival began in 1976 as a celebration of Barcaldine's Artesian water. Balls, mardi gras and street parades were enjoyed by residents and former residents of Barcaldine.

Back Creek Sam, a fictional character who looks like a snake, originated from the Artesian festival.

The last Artesian festival was held in 1997.
