Saritsa Foundation in its continues endeavors towards imparting Life Saving Education to minimize losses of lives and property in disasters. Saritsa Foundation imparted knowledge and practical training with mock drills, as well as for preparing of search and rescue teams with needed equipment to about 1700 school teachers, school children groups (including a group of disabled children) of 70 schools as well as Village Panchayat Members and Sarpanches of 6 subdivisions of South Goa including people in local governance.

The workshops were organized in partnership with Government of Goa from 10th December to 18th December 2013.The photographs given in sub sequent slides speak about it!!

The first workshop was inaugurated by Shri. Subhash Desai, MLA Sanguem Constituency and Chairman of INFO TECH Corporation of Goa Ltd. on 10th December 2013. The Workshop was conducted for students from 10 High Schools and one Higher Secondary School with their Teachers and Village Panchyat Members.

Discussion about the mission of Saritsa Foundation and its relevance to make Life Saving Education inclusive part of education to prepare students to minimize risk from disasters for the students of BITS campuses and other Institutions. Colonel N M Verma was also honored here as an Alumni of BITS with the presentation of a Souvenir on 17th December 2013.

Impact Quantification

These workshops were conducted with simple ideas and designs where school children, senior school children, representatives of village elected members and disabled children could learn with enhanced zeal and enthusiasm. It raised awareness amongst them to be self reliant to protect by responding with developed skills. Practical training , mock drills and innovative use of local resources strengthened their retention. They could prepare search and rescue team as per defined roles and equipment in quickest time. Each school rescue teams as well as the teams of village panchayat members and sarpanches groups competed with each other. The participants also understood the importance to provide immediate first aid at their level to injured persons and evacuate them as practiced, ways and means during practice and rehearsals.

Analyzing the impacts through a feedback of large number of students, teachers and village panchayat members and sarpanches also helped in quantification of impacts. Feedback given by Some of them is given below:-
