Purdue University: Spaces

When most people think of Purdue, they think of…

Big Ten football,

engineering,

The band,

and the bell tower.

Unfortunately, many people fail to see the residence halls, which are an overlooked but major part of campus. The residence hall stereotype is that they are boring. Students only use their rooms for sleeping and studying, and no one ever uses the lobby unless something is needed from the front desk.

Stereotype of Earhart Hall lobby.

In fact, this is not true at all. Many students use the Earhart front lobby for many different things.

Many students use the Earhart front lobby for studying instead of their rooms.

The comfy chairs are excellent for stretching out to do homework.

Other students use the lobby to avoid their roommates.

Some students even use the lobby for a quick power nap.

Earhart lobby is used for many different things most people outside the Purdue

community never see.
