Listy o świętach w naszych krajach

– Boże Narodzenie w Portugalii • Hello, friends from Poland! We are Rafael and

Ricardo from group 2 at the Project Class. As we are getting in Christmas time we decided to send you an e-mail talking about the way we celebrate it over here; and we’re doing this for you to know our country, Portugal!

• So; here in Portugal Christmas is very important, and we have lots of old traditions. It is a time to be with our families, or our friends, or maybe both. Already in the beginning of December, we prepare the Christmas tree, for us to fill it under with presents during the all month (only until the Christmas Eve). We also set up the crib; over here we call it “Presépio”. On Christmas Eve, when all the family is together, we eat a big dinner. We eat cod fish with potatoes for main plate and many traditional and tasty sweets for dessert. After dinner, all the family gets together, and when the clock rings midnight, everybody opens their presents and happiness grows. Also on Christmas Eve, many people go to the mass late in the evening, which is called “Missa do Galo”.

• In Portugal, there are some organizations that collect presents to give to the poor children. And this year, a giant tree with 72 meters tall (the biggest in Europe) is in Lisbon, for everyone to see and enjoy. Now you know how Christmas is in Portugal. What about in Poland? How is Christmas over there?

Święta w naszych krajach – list o karnawale

w Mascaluci (Włochy)

• February27th

• Dear Agnieszka,

• I was very happy to receive your letter.

• In these last eighteen days of February in our country we celebrate Carnival.

• It’s a feast that comes before Lent and lasts until Ash-Wednesday.

• In this period we dress up, dance and have fun.

• For three Sundays and on the last Thursday before Lent, children and adults wear masks and go for the streets playing jokes and carouse.

• A group of students of my school is dressed up as the characters of the story “ THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS”. On Tuesday afternoon they are participating to a parade along the streets of my town.

• A famous proverb says :At Carnival each fun worth

• I hope to hear from you soon. Love from Ilenia

• Dwie grupy uczniów wykonały prezentacje

Powerpoint o naszym mieście.

Prezentacje wspaniale uzupełniają się,

ponieważ jedna skupia się na mieście

widzianym oczami dziecka a druga

wspaniale ukazuje historię i zabytki

miasta. Pierwsza zatytułowana Welcome

General information about the town

• Dzierżoniów is situated

– 260 m above the sea level, on river Piławka, in the Dzierżoniów hollow between Mount Ślęża in the north and Sowie Mountains ( the oldest chain of mountains in Poland) in the south-west.

St. George’s Church

• Church was probably founded in 1159 by Polish Duke Bolesław Kędzierzawy from Silesian dynasty. Originally built of wood, the brick walls were added in 1258. The church was completely rebuilt in XV and XVI centuries.

Defensive Walls

• Were built in the end of XIII century on Duke Bolko I recommendation.

SWIMMING POOL • Our local

swimming club „DZIEWIĄTKA” has many achievements. There have been swimmers in Polish national team from Dzierżoniów. Now, our friend (14 years old) Julian Soboń is in a national junior swimming team. He is the winner of Polish swimming championship.

SPORTS FIELD • Young people have a

lot of possibilities to spend their free time. We can train in many sports clubs: we can train martial arts, volleyball, football, basketball, handball , chess, table tennis. In Dzierżoniów there is an artificial football playing field – we can play football all the year long.

LITTLE SHIP OF FRIENDSHIP

MAŁY STATEK PRZYJAŹNI

-Every class 4-6 made two models of a ship or a boat of materials they chose on their own.

- Każda klasa 4-6 wykonywała 2 modele statku lub łodzi z dowolnego materiału.

The Irish ship made by class 5a.

Isn’t it great?

Statek przedstawiający Irlandię wykonany przez

uczniów klasy 5a. Czyż nie jest wspaniały?

Some other ships.

Kilka kolejnych statków.

We used different materials to make our

ships and sailing boats.

Korzystaliśmy z różnych materiałów w

czasie wykonywania naszych statków i

żaglówek.

LITTLE SHIP SWIMS ROUND THE SEA

MOJA PODRÓŻ PO EUROPIE

In groups of 3-4 students we did art works about chosen route of voyage along European river or through European sea. The results were fascinating.

W grupach po 3-4 ucziów wykonywaliśmy prace plastyczne o wybranej trasie podróży po rzece lub morzu europejskim.

Voyage through the Mediterranean Sea

made by class 6d

Voyage through Polish Dunajec River can be

really interesting.

Rejs po naszym polskim Dunajcu może być

naprawdę ciekawy.

We can paint not only on paper but also on a piece of fabric. You can see

the route along the River Thames in England painted on a fabric.

Malować można nie tylko na papierze ale również na płótnie, na którym

widzimy trasę rejsu po Tamizie.

Younger classes made an ecological marzanna. Marzanna

is an old Polish tradition. On Spring Day Polish children

make and then burn it as a symbol of winter.

This year we did ecological marzannas – we didn’t burn

them – we undressed them and segregated the material

into paper, fabric, plastic and metal.

Klasy 1 – 3 robiły ekologiczną marzannę

We also found the information about the history

of Polish sailing.

Zajmowaliśmy się również historią żeglugi

polskiej.

Dziękuję za uwagę.
