Production of music magazine front cover

By Niamh Doherty

The first step that I did was to create a black background

Then the next thing I did was select one of the images I took and crop it by using the ‘lasso tool’ to help create the look that the girl is actually standing in front of a black background.

Then I used ‘text’ to create the title of my magazine and made it a good size font. I also gave the title a 3D effect so that it stands out more and seems more professional.

Then, I created the main cover line which I made a large size, but not any bigger than the title. I then gave it a 3D effect to give it more definition.

Next, I did the magazines strap line.

Then I created an oval shape which contains the text ‘20 artists to look out for in 2016’ to make it stand out more which could result in the audience buying the magazine

I included cover lines to inform the reader some of the things that are going to be in the magazine.

Then, I included smaller text underneath each cover line to inform the reader what the cover line is about and interest them even more into purchasing the magazine

Next, I included information underneath the main cover line to give the reader more understanding about what the article is about.

I uploaded a barcode and made it to an appropriate size for the page.

Underneath the barcode I included a website, issue number and the price.

This is my finished magazine front cover were I changed a few things such as the background to a dark grey instead of black, I removed the 3D effect from the title, changed the colour of the cover lines to red, positioned the main cover line and the information underneath it in the middle rather than the left hand side, and finally adjusted the main cover lines smaller information's’ underneath.
