INTRODUCTION

An embedded system is a computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions often with real-time computing constraints.

LITERATURE SURVEY

• The earlier paper proposed by George W. Hart on Load monitoring with the help of Arduino and CT sensor.

• George W. Hart paper was developed by M. Maryori Sabalza with addition of Zigbee along with Arduino and CT sensor.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT• To design a cost effective & less

complex energy meter

• To produce a real-time load monitoring system that display the load and tariff simultaneously

PROPOSED METHOD

• In our proposed method, various loads were measured using the HALL effect current sensor interfaced to a Microcontroller

• Data collected from different loads can be stored in the EEPROM internally presented in the PIC Microcontroller

• The load and tariff calculated from the above data by programming the PIC will be displayed on LCD interfaced with the Microcontroller

HARDWARE COMPONENTS

• Micro Controller

• Transformer

• Voltage Regulator

•ACS712 Sensor

• Crystal oscillator

•LCD Display

•LED

RESULTS

A 60watts bulb was connected

A 100watts bulb was connected

A 200watts bulb was connected

ADVANTAGES

• Efficient and low cost design.

• Uses EEPROM to save data when power

cut is occur

• Low power consumption.

• Fast and Accurate result.

APPLICATIONS• Domestic Usage

• Commercial Usage

• Industrial Usage

CONCLUSION CONCLUSION By considering the drawbacks and future scope of George W.Hart and M.Maryori sabalza methos we have designed and tested our proposed method of project successfully

FUTURE SCOPE Our project can be extended to design a system which helps in continuous monitoring of load consumption and to alert when tariff goes beyond a set level.

Our project can also be extended as a prepaying and Time of day metering.
