Outside assistant will be limited based on the outbreak

The first cases of the Pandemic Flu have now been found in California– CDC Officials. WHO goes to Phase 6.

Several Pandemic Flu cases have shown up in Minnesota.

Flu cases have now spread throughout Minnesota, no County has been untouched.

Cases in Benton County are rapidly multiplying.

Effects on County Workers

Sixty employees out sick another 20 stay home as caregivers.

Entire departments out sick. Workers required to work in other

departments. Departments close altogether

12,000 sick another 4,000 out as caregivers 6,000 require outpatient health care 720 sent to hospitals 108 require Intensive Care 54 require ventilators 120 deaths These numbers represent an above average Pandemic - If it is a SEVERE

Pandemic like 1918 the numbers for Hospitals, Intensive Care, Ventilators and Deaths would be 2X+ higher

THESE NUMBERS ARE FOR ONE MONTH

August – September – Cases Receding

Vaccine is now available for dispensing 1st wave appears to be winding down Question as to if schools should open Officials say second wave is inevitable

Where do we go from here?

Public Health Staff must prepare for mass dispensing of vaccine.

Flu supplies need to be replenished if they even can be found.

Actions during this first wave need to be reviewed.
