Estimating and Measuring in Nature

The children love learning outdoors. They began by discussing with their partner how tall/long an object was. They recorded this as an estimation. The children decided which unit of measure to use before measuring and recording.

Data Handling in Nature

Primary 3 went on a nature adventure in our local area.

We collected data about the number of plants, animals and water sources in our local area.

We counted lots of birds and found some interesting stones. We even saw some birds and a squirrel.

We went on a trip to the dam and collected samples of water for a measuring activity.

We created a tally chart to present our data.

We discovered Spring blossom and some very interesting trees.

We even had a chance to see make a new friend. Meet “Tweedy the Bird”.

The children had lots of fun recording their data during the Nature Walk.
