Cleaning Campaign

Nallavadu Village Beach was cleaned by the students.

A Rally was conducted with pluck cards containing slogans on Cleanliness

The Beach became clean & beautiful. People were advised not to throw wastes in the sea

SAY NO TO PLASTIC - RALLY

• A rally was organised to create awareness on the Plastic problem. Students raised slogans on the evils of plastic carry bags.

• Students made a pledge to avoid Plastic carry bags.

“Say No to Crackers”• Awareness Programme

was conducted every year before Diwali.

• Students and Teachers delivered speeches and Songs on the evils of crackers

• Students made a Pledge to “Say no to crackers”

“Say no to crackers” – awareness creating sports competition

We planned and conducted sports and drawing competition on Diwali day itself. Many students and some village youths participated in the competitions.

• A Seminar was conducted. School Teachers presented speeches on the World Environment Day.

• Tree plantation in the school ground was done in collaboration with M.G.R. Pothunala Peravai (NGO)

• Trees grown well and add beauty to our school

Field Trip to Chunnaambar River bed to visit the dump yard there

Students came to know about the effects of air & water pollution

• Field trip to a waste dump yard was arranged

• Pupil came to know the evils of mismanagement of solid wastes.

• We visited a Paper recycling center at Puducherry.

• Pupil got interest in Paper recycling

• They resolved to collect and send the waste papers to waste paper buyers.

• Pupil collected wastes and prepared compost pits in the school and in the village.

• Pupil learnt the uses and methods of making compost pits.

Paper Bank

• A Paper Bank was opened in the School

• A Pupil level committee was appointed to guide the collection of waste papers daily.

• The Waste paper buyer was called to our school to collect regularly the Waste Papers.

• Our pupils felt practically, the uses of paper recycling.

• The School also gets monitory benefit by this activity.

Documentation of Local Bioresources

• Students were divided into several groups to collect details about Bio-resources in the Nallavadu village. The information are collected by the respective teacher in charges.

• They did this activity with great interest and improved their local knowledge.

• Preparation of Biodiversity Register, Documentation of Local Bioresources, Initiating Village Biodiversity Council, Field trip to Tissue culture Unit & Dairy, at Kurumbapet, Puducherry.
