Today`s student, tomorrow`s future citizen of the United Europe, will be an informed, active and responsible one!!!

• The school population consists of 1300 students:• 97 pupils in the preparatory school year• 303 students in elementary level (grades I – IV)• 372 students in gymnasium (grades V – VIII)• 528 students in high school (grades IX – XII)• This means:• 3 groups for preparatory school year• 14 elementary classes• 13 gymnasium classes• 19 high school classes• Our students come from Bucharest and

neighbouring villages.

  

Our high school ensures a professional and complete education starting with the preparatory school year altogether with elementary, gymnasium and high school classes.

1st Target: Achieving the adequate framework for getting quality in educationProgram 1.1.: Elaboration and implementation of that offer which can help us achieve an organic and a consistent training throughout the entire process of education: from the preparatory school year and going through primary and secondary levels up to high school.

Program 1.2: Involving school in national and international educational projects (‘Mathematics without Frontiers’, ‘Global English’, ‘Math Light’, ‘Kangaroo’, ‘Archimedes’, ‘Let`s Read for the Third Millennium’, Scientific Session –‘Symbols in the Universe of Knowledge’ , etc.).

Program 1.3: Encourage the participation in symposiums, competitions, contest, Olympiads School, etc.

Partnership in Comenius region project: ‘Art and Culture School Event’.

2nd Target: Improving social skills networkingProgram 2.1: Involving students in planning and organizing school events (meetings with writers, artists, sportsmen, journalists, representatives of higher education institutions from our country and abroad).

Program 2.2: Collaboration with NGOs.

Program 2.3: Developing of a spirit of respect, preservation and protection of the environment (‘U4 Energy ',' Millennium Development Goals’).

Program 2.4: Encouraging volunteering and charitable actions (‘National Championships for Paralympics’, ‘Mariana Mihoc`s Cup - wheelchair basketball’, ‘It's your turn to give’, ‘I am a child, but get involved’).

Program 2.5: Involvement in projects in order to promote and preserve the traditions of the Romanian spirituality (‘Following Our Heritage - small great masters’ - pottery, painting, March trinkets workshops, ‘Folk and Artistic creation – the soul icon of every nation’, ‘The Magic of Holidays - spring of joy, chain of traditions‘).

3 rd Target III: Promoting the European dimension and the values of multiculturalism in youth educationand international educational projects (‘Euroscola’, ‘LET S DO IT, ROMANIA!’, ‘e-TwinProgram 3.1: Career planning counselling.

Program 3.2: Involving school in national ning’, ‘Education by image’, Public Speaking Contest, City College-Essay Contest, ‘Jean Monnet’- Theatre Festival).

4th Target: Improving teachers` permanent retrainingProgram 4.1: Encourage debutant teachers to pursue this career.

Program 4.2: Improving student-focused learning through continuous teachers’ retraining.

Program 4.3: Using modern technique in the process of teaching-learning-assessment.

Program 4.4: Participation in symposia, scientific communication sessions, conferences, congresses, training courses (POSDRU, ECDL) and publishing works of research in magazines.

We were involved in e-Twinning Projects having partners from France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Slovenia and Greece. The prizes were acknowledged as a certificate of national/european quality in education:

• EUROPEAN CONTEST: ‘MATHEMATICAL KANGAROO’This was initiated by the International Association ‘Kangaroo without Frontiers’ and in Romania by the Ministry of Education, F.I.E.S., and I.D.E.E.

• NATIONAL COMPETITION OF MATHEMATICS: ‘MATH LIGHT’Competition initiated by ‘Light Educational Establishments’ in partnership with: MECTS and University of South-East Europe, Light.

• NATIONAL COMPETITION OF MATHEMATICS ‘ARCHIMEDES’• INTERNATIONAL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION ‘ARCHIMEDES’• INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ‘ARCHIMEDES’Editorial Board of the Archimedes` journal and ‘Archimedes` Association’ launched in partnership with the Ministry of Education and ARCHIMEDES organization the Review of the contest, which addresses to the pupils from the 2nd grade to 12th one.

Ceremony Hall of ‘Jean Monnet’ High School

• There were 250 students from the 1st to 12th

grades that came from different schools, or social, economic and cultural backgrounds.

• There were seen 23 plays in the contest and, of course, the awards ceremony.

• This event enjoyed a wide publicity by broadcasters Digi TV and TVR Cultural, and the Festival review could be seen on April 4, 2013 in ‘Cultural Journal’.

Visit in Strasbourg at ‘Euroscola Days’.

- Third Edition - 2010-2011 - 1st PRIZE.

- Fourth Edition - 2011-2012 – due to its best results,

the team wasinvited to attended ‘Euroscoala Days’

in Strasbourg, between 9 and 14 October 2012.
