He was born in November 6, 1861 in Ontario Canada.

Dr. James Naismith was a phisical education professor.

EARLY LIFE

In early December 1891 Dr. James Naismith was trying to keep his gym class active on a rainy day. He was looking for an indoor game to keep his students occupied.

ADULT LIFE

• The game of basketball was inspired by a children’s game called duck- on- a rock. After changing the peach baskets for open hoop nets, James Naismith soon wrote thirteen official rules for the game.

DEATH

• He died in November 28, 1939 (Aged 7) in Lawrence, Kansas because of a brain haemorrage.
