Technological Process

We have been learning about the design process and

its stages. We’ve decided to incorporate this year ‘s

social issue "The other is me" in our final project.

Need:

Planning and designing an accessible playground for

children with physical disabilities

Studies of the topic:

Disability / blindness - definition,

difficulties, available accessories ,

meeting with disabled people

Playground equipment -

engineering requirements,

matching facilities for disabled people

Our own experience:

We went to the park and took with us a large wheelchair,

crutches and scarves to cover our eyes.

We tried to play and get on the various facilities. It was a

great experience for understanding about everyday

difficulties of disabled kids.

Dividing into groups: Entrepreneurial group roles according to the comparative

advantage of each student :

a group leader

a writer

a designer

a sketcher

a model creator

a person responsible for computer skills

a person responsible for advertising and marketing

Our Innovation:

An amusement facility in a form of an animal

with a variety of activities

Our criteria for evaluating the product:

The facility is designed in a form of an animal with a

variety of activities

Accessible to disabled and blind

Safe

Designed according to necessary stages

Colorful and aesthetic

Project Planning:

Need : lack of amusement facilities that combine activities for blind and

disabled children

Market survey: a questionnaire for hospitalized kids

Requirements: fit for disabled : wide aisles, ramps and

slopes , no stairs for blind

Safety: railings, seat belts

Form : an animal form model

Facility Activities: determined by the group, such as

maze, Tic-Tac -Toe, basketball and more ...

Designing:

Generating ideas

Choosing the idea

Creation of a model using

different materials

Creation of a model:

- the usage of different materials

- the meeting with the artist Hans

Our dream is that Hans will build one of our models
