Overview for teachersGreen Camp for Schools workshops are available year-round for school groups looking to combine practical skills with creative thinking in an inspirational environment.

The Green School / Green Camp site is the ideal setting in which to study sustainable design and technology, as it models innovative, contemporary design using traditional and environmentally responsible methods.

Every GCS project involves the design and hands-on construction of products and systems that meet human needs, created using renewable and/or recycled materials. Students learn methods & techniques that improve quality of life, solve problems and enhance personal leadership skills.

Every project is presented as a challenge with numerous possible learning outcomes and solutions. Students work alongside Green Camp mentors, who encourage the development of ideas and systems that challenge convention and empower students. The result is the development of practical and intellectual skills along with a greater understanding of relevant cultural, socio-economic and environmental issues.

Gaining confidence in the process, students make new links; discovering possibilities, finding solutions to problems and visualising “can do” alternatives.
