Some Examples
You can apply for an MF Action
Grant if you happen to be:
• Collaborating with a local
organization to promote climate
change mitigation measures.
• Discovering new places with
culturally diverse travel group
while reaching out the local
society.
• Attending conferences or
workshops to gain insight and to
network with like-minded
individuals or organizations.

grant designed to
support members of
the Foundation who
engage in, support
and/or propose
service activities that
reflect the vision and
mission of the MF
and exemplify the
spirit of Dr. Charles
“Chuck” Semke
(Founding Director of
the MF).
The Spirit of Service Project Grant
Living the Spirit
The Spirit of Service Project Grant
recognizes Fellow’s engagement
with local communities. It comes as
award in support of project where
local needs are tackled in a tangible
way.
This grant is awarded annually and
you can:
• Nominate a project that you are
currently involved in
• Nominate other Fellows’ initiative
• Support a nomination by writing a
recommendation
The Application Process
The process has 3 really simple steps:
1. Preparation1. Define your idea or project
2. Ensure relevance to MF mission
3. Research similar projects and see what you
can learn from them
4. Identify domain experts and reach out to
them
5. Look for additional resources/funds
6. Refine your grant proposal
2. Application• Submit your grant proposal via the
application tool
3. Grant Assessment and Decision• This may take 2-4 weeks
Grant Assessment
A team from the MF Grant Committee will review and assess your grant application on the basis of uniform and standardized criteria.

As a grantee, we
expect you to:

project to your best

...tell others about your
project – in the MF
and outside

the Grant Committee
or the MF community
