The crisis in Darfur is the result of the rebellion led by the Sudanese Liberation Army on the Sudanese government.

The Sudanese air force bombs the homes of villagers very early in the morning.

Then the militia ride in the villages, killing the men, raping the women, and looting.

The people are forced out of their homes.

They journey miles just to find “shelter.”

The CampsThe Camps

The conditions in the refugee camps are comparable to those of concentration camps.

Starvation and MalnuritionStarvation and Malnurition

There is desperate need of food, water and medicine.

A young child clings to life.

Lack of ProtectionLack of Protection

If the women leave the camps they risk being abducted, raped or possibly killed.

They are trapped.
