Colquitt County High School Welding Competition

Entrants are required to create lap, butt, and T-welds using the gas metal art welding and shielding metal art welding processes.

Entrants are scored on their ability to read a blueprint, measure, the appearance of their weld bead, clean up, and adherence to safety procedures.

A written exam is administered to all students to be used as a tiebreaker if necessary.

Carol Burke with GA DOE’s CTAE Department speaks with representatives from Tulsa Welding, the Colquitt County School Board, Teacher Tim Hobbs and other visitors.
