What does the word “Catholic” mean?

How did the Catholic Church became the one true church?

It was founded by Christ.

What does it mean when we say that the Church is ONE?

Christ only found one Church. The faithful of the Church profess the same faith, have the same sacraments and one single hierarchy under one head-the Pope.

What does it mean when we say that the Church is HOLY?

The Head of the Church is Holy. Christ has united the Church to himself as his body.

What does it mean when we say that the Church is CATHOLIC?

From the word catholic which means universal. It is universal because it has all means to salvation. The Church’s mission is to the whole of human race.

What does it mean when we say that the Church is APOSTOLIC?

The Church is built on the foundation of Peter and the apostles. With the assistance of the Holy Spirit, it transmits faithfully the teachings of the apostles. The apostolic succession.

What is the Holy Mass?

What is the purpose of this sacrament?

It is a sacrament of love and unity that gives us the Author of grace. It is the source and summit of the whole Christian life.
